See this perspective section? It’s 10,800px x 5400px, or 6' x 3'. Seems like a decent amount of work for a final, right? Yeah... it comprises only about 10% of the total work I had to do for my design final.
Now
this
is a final...
I’m actually dead right now.

The University of Washington got a new shell house in 2005 - but not nearly as cool as that. Have you considered adding more flying buttresses? (kidding - I just wanted to say “flying buttress”....)

Beautiful. It would be a shame if I ran over it.

Gehry sweep in the roof, flat roofs a la Bauhaus (later Wright), bit of Wright cantilever on the left, bit of Bunshaft in the center (sweeping curve) - not that it’s derivative, not at all, it’s just that all architecture builds on what came before.

Nothing is ever original in architecture!

Yeah, derivative. Although Wright could open a room like no-one else. Have you seen Fallingwater?

Yeah there’s definitely some nice boathouses out there, you should check out Studio Gang’s boathouse in Chicago

Several times, I did a 1-week residency there in high school. Wright also designed a house near me in Ohio that the owners rent out; I stayed there for a night and it’s a pretty amazing experience.

Did you see the Hagan house? 50s house on a hexagonal design - about 10 minutes from Fallingwater. Also called Kentuck Knob. Another masterpiece.
In Chicago, I once rented out a room in the Mamah Borthwick Cheney house, that he designed. But damn, the Unity Temple was closed.

Go see Hagan (Kentuck Knob) if you haven’t. It’s a lovely house. It’s also one he client-proofed.

Very nice! Some interesting design details there!
I’m one of those weird people, personally, who likes small houses, so I’ve always appreciated interesting designs. There are a lot of really interesting ones in Japan, this one is one of my favs :) :

I absolutely love contemporary Japanese architecture! I feel like there’s way more creativity there due to the constraint of open space. My personal favorite is the daylight house by Takeshi Hosaka Architects. It’s surrounded by apartment towers, so the entire house is naturally lit from the ceiling.
